Belo Hires Executive Chef Sean Jorgensen

belo is pleased to announce the hiring of Executive Chef Sean Jorgensen.

San Diego 's only true "dance club" in the Gaslamp, belo, proudly welcomes Executive Chef Sean Jorgensen to its team. Sean has joined the belo staff bringing the same passion our food that our DJ's bring to the music.

Sean brings to belo a unique background in American fusion cuisine - both here and abroad. Most recently, he has been the Executive Chef at Cody's in La Jolla and, previously, was the Executive Chef at Lou & Mickey's in the Gaslamp. At both of these establishments, he created exclusive blends of flavors, cuisines, and presentation style, which earned him the accolades of customers and establishment owners alike.

Before these positions, Sean trained an entire staff of cooks in Western cooking, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients for a restaurant in Shanghai , China . There, he was Executive Chef for two years, overcoming cultural and language barriers to create a truly standout American cuisine menu.

At belo, Sean flows the experience of the music and the ambiance of the club into the cuisine, making the food an edible interpretation of the club's energy. In fact, as he develops each new culinary creation, Sean draws the food in a sketch pad, complete with colors and presentation, making it a true artistic expression, not just a plate of food.

Come and experience the cutting-edge American fusion cuisine of Sean Jorgensen, at belo.

Belo is San Diego 's only true "superclub," in the mold of Crobar ( Chicago , New York , Miami ) and Ministry of Sound ( London ). With over 20,000 square feet of hot, ultra-chic décor; three different rooms; and top-flite, internationally-known DJ talent, belo will be the destination for San Diego 's club-goers. The club is named for its location nestled under the Gaslamp.

Belo's versatile space, spacious dance floors, intimate corners, comfortable couches and a great vibe can provide the perfect atmosphere for a wide range of events. Ranging from small, intimate gatherings to large scale productions including product launches, photography/video shoots, fashion shows, art shows, film screenings, corporate receptions, sit-down dinners, and dance parties, the club's capacity ranges from 30 to 1,200 people. Belo officially opens to the public on February 2, 2006 .
